Remote Skills Verification: RSV In Action

COVID-19 presented new training barriers for Training Centers, Instructors and students across the country. But through Remote Skills Verification (RSV), our community was able to pull together and provide a safe and convenient solution.

RSV allows approved HSI Training Centers and authorized Instructors the flexibility to connect with students and provide 100% remote training for customers who need CPR, AED and First Aid certification – all while maintaining the same high-quality training standard students have come to expect with our programs.

With RSV, students benefit from real-time feedback and guidance from authorized Instructors to correctly demonstrate required skills and complete their certification. Just like they would during an in-person training session.

Here’s what some recent RSV students had to say about their learning experience:

RSV is a nice opportunity to regain First Aid Certification for Outings Leaders. I would like to see RSV available under "normal" conditions and not only available due to COVID-19.

Michael, Indiana

My HSI Instructor was top notch. I have little to no computer skills, and he took the time to walk me through all the steps. A++++

Daniel, Pennsylvania

High quality videos were thorough, easy to follow, and an excellent training environment.

Tomas, Maine

I liked it better than going in person. It helped that I had previous training in small groups.

Jerilee, Oregon

The RSV platform is available 24-7, making it a convenient and user-friendly option for both Instructors and students alike.

Additionally, Training Centers have the flexibility to choose an RSV option that fits each student’s training needs. RSV options include:

  1. RSV:  The Training Center will be responsible for handling how the hands-on skills components (e.g. manikin, AED trainer, gloves, etc.) will reach the student.

  2. RSV-D:  HSI will ship all hands-on skills components directly to the student to keep for future use.

  3. RSV-M:  HSI will ship equipment to the student with a return label included. The student will return all training materials to HSI before receiving their digital certification card.
