Need a CPR Class? Here’s 3 Options for Getting Certified

Whether you’re getting CPR certified for your workplace or for personal reasons, you have several ways to ensure you remain safe during this pandemic while also choosing a delivery method that fits your learning style and preference.

CPR, AED and First Aid classes are available in the following formats:

  1. CPR Training Group Class with Demo-1In-Person. Approved Training Centers and Authorized Instructors provide in-person CPR, AED and First Aid certification classes. These classes allow you to safely learn lifesaving skills in a traditional classroom setting.

  2. BlendedBlended Learning. This hybrid approach combines online learning and in-person skills practice, delivered by an Authorized Instructor.

  3. RSV--Reaching-your-studentsOnline with Remote Skills Verification (RSV). This 100% online certification provides online cognitive training and remote skills verification without leaving the comfort of your home or business. Students receive real-time feedback and guidance from an Authorized Instructor to correctly demonstrate hands-on skills.

Blended Learning vs RSV: Which is right for me?

Blended Learning and RSV both offer the same online cognitive training component. With these options, you will complete the educational component of your certification online – which may save you time and money.

The real difference between Blended Learning and RSV is the delivery of the hands-on skills component of your certification.

  • Blended Learning requires you to meet in-person with an Authorized Instructor to complete skills practice and testing.

  • RSV allows you to complete your hands-on skills remotely under the supervision and guidance of an Authorized Instructor.

RSV is a great option for students who prefer to remain in their home or workplace for the entirety of their certification. This could be because they don’t want to be physically present due to health concerns or because they don’t want to travel to a nearby training location.

Whatever the reason, RSV gives you the ability to complete your CPR certification under the same high-quality standards as a traditional in-person class.

Your Authorized Instructor will work with you to determine the best way to deliver your hands-on skills training equipment (e.g. manikin, AED trainer, gloves, etc.) to your home or business. And provide you with a remote skills verification time that fits your schedule.

But if you’re someone who prefers to receive feedback in-person, blended learning may be the better option for you. For instance, maybe you’ve never taken a CPR class before and want more personalized training. Blended Learning provides the best of both learning styles by providing online learning and in-person guidance.

Whether you choose in-person, Blended Learning or RSV, certification classes can be completed in a few short hours. But the skills you learn can mean the difference between life and death for a loved one or stranger in need.
