National CPR and AED Week is here, and it’s the perfect time to spread the word about how trained bystanders can make a lifesaving difference in a medical emergency.
According to the CPR and AED Awareness Week web page:In December 13, 2007, Congress unanimously passed a resolution to set aside June 1-7 each year as National CPR and AED Awareness Week to spotlight how lives can be saved if more Americans know CPR and how to use an AED.
At the top of this year’s awareness week, all of us at HSI want to give a shout-out to all our authorized ASHI and MEDIC First Aid emergency care instructors for the work you do to keep our workplaces and communities safer. Thanks to your classes, millions of Americans in hundreds of industries have been certified in CPR, AED and first aid.
For an overview of how ASHI and MEDIC First Aid training is used to help satisfy emergency care certification requirements, check out our regulatory and compliance infographic here.
Because of the dedication and commitment of our amazing instructors, lives are saved every day by bystanders who have the confidence to respond in a crisis. Here are just some of the stories submitted by ASHI and MEDIC First Aid instructors about their student heroes:
If you have a story you would like to share about one of your emergency care students, please let us know! Visit the contact page in the emergency care area of our website to submit your student for an ASHI or MEDIC First Aid Good Samaritan certificate.
During CPR and AED week and every week throughout the year, thank you, emergency care instructors, and keep up the great work!
