Avert_BrandMark_PrintOnly_4Cis Active Violence Emergency Response Training

When active violence occurs, seconds count, and you can't always wait for EMS to arrive. AVERT enables people in any organization to become an immediate responder in an active violence or emergency bleeding situation. While other training programs focus on just active shooter or stop the bleed training, AVERT goes beyond by teaching both topics in one blended training format.

This training program was originally created for first responders by Premier Safety Group, a company started by experts in law enforcement, security and medicine. Now a part of HSI, the AVERT program has been adapted for the general public and all types of organizations.

Visit the AVERT website to watch an overview video and to download a free eBook about training your organization or how to become an authorized AVERT Instructor.

AVERT for Organizations

AVERT_IDC_DSC0458Why organizations need AVERT

AVERT uses dynamic training tactics to empower people with life-saving techniques. Originally developed by professional law enforcement, private security and medical experts, AVERT brings emergency responder-level training to organizations of all types.

Blended learning combines online training with live scenario training that simulates a typical encounter giving organizations a chance to practice what they’ve learned for better retention.

While we hope this training never needs to be enacted, statistics show that active violence is becoming more common, and along with that, the need for emergency bleeding control.

After an AVERT training session, organizational teams will be able to:

  • Recognize warning signs of a potential aggressor
  • Respond quickly in a violent or emergency situation
  • Escape, evade or attack in the critical seconds during an event
  • Apply critical bleeding control techniques to help save lives
  • Gain the confidence needed to respond
  • Understand the importance of an Emergency Action Plan
